Barre Art on Canvas

There’s something to cherish in barre inspired art.

While todays social media platforms are peppered with fitness inspiration – or #fitspo – “barre” fitness inspiration is the most elegant and romantic as it echoes figurative art of long, lean ballet dancers. French artist Edgar Degas may have enjoyed equestrian subjects, but his Parisian ballerinas live in the minds of even the most casual art lovers.

Our featured barre artist, Caron Shahrestani, sees the figurative works of the Renaissance as an early sign of todays fitness inspiration online. The long lines, movement and grace of ballet barre related fitness is part of the draw for those who long to look like they dance, even if they dont.

Caron’s fitness inspired artwork ranges from large statement canvases to detailed, hand-held pieces small enough to fit on the wall of your closet or cubby at work. She also produces a small “gift shop” of art-printed keepsakes, including porcelain pendants and reusable shopping totes.
